Fantastic podcast. I am so glad to hear that the unspeakeasy will be highlighting more art. The historical perspective on ballet is much appreciated. But the nuts and bolts of how composer and choreographer exchanged their respective contributions, how the music came together in Deutcher’s mind, and how she sent piano recordings for early dancing practice were all fascinating. This episode also highlights Megan’s superb talent for asking basic questions that prompt the guests to elucidate their process so that listeners can understand it. The only thing missing is what it looks like and sounds like. I wish I were not so far from LA.
Just started and looking forward to this. I remember when Lincoln was previously on the podcast, which got me to start following their Instagram. If I lived in Los Angeles I would be seeing their performances.
Love, love, love y'all are using live musicians and have such concern for the quality of the music! I totally understand why companies use recorded music, but live is SO much better. Not to mention, what's better than art that supports artists. BRAVO!
