Caitlin Flanagan Will Join Us In Los Angeles
The acclaimed writer will be our guest at the Unspeakeasy women's retreat in L.A. in April.
Exciting news!
We’ve got four official Unspeakeasy retreats planned for this year, including a classic women’s retreat in Los Angeles, a living room retreat in Saratoga Springs, a 3-night writing workshop in the Catskill Mountains (led by me), and a 2-night coed retreat in the Hudson Valley. The last three are in the fall and registration will open in a few months.
For our first retreat, April 11-12, in Los Angeles, I’m thrilled to announce that acclaimed essayist, journalist, and critic Caitlin Flanagan will join us as a guest speaker. Registration is open now. (See below.)
Caitlin, who’s been called “one of America’s most incisive essayists” (we agree!) has been a contributor to The Atlantic for more than 20 years. No matter what she’s writing about–literature, popular culture, education, politics, domestic life, the MeToo movement, or abortion–she defines and distills the complexities of her subject like no one else.
She is the author of To Hell With All That, Girl Land, and On Thinking For Yourself: Instinct, Education, Dissension.
Caitlin will join us for an intimate, off-the-record conversation in a private home in Los Angeles.
Space is limited. Register below.

I frequently piss off my friends and colleagues by bringing up one of Flanagan’s pieces and talking about the things I like about it. Looking forward to this.
